Homeschool Day - Medieval Day
4/6/2010            10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Specifically designed for homeschool families! Learning opportunities include interactive activities in the galleries, live performances by costumed interpreters and explorations throughout the exhibits. In addition, hands-on workshops led by museum educators are available for an additional fee.

  • Discover 11th to 20th century arms and armor in our Royal Armouries collection.
  • Watch live sword demonstrations and see a knight get dressed in armor.
  • Try on reproduction helmets or make brass rubbings and more!

Available Workshops (optional):

The Science of Catapults - 11 to 11:45 p.m.(Grades 4 & up)

  • Use what you learn about projectiles to design and build a catapult out of everyday household items. Will yours propel objects over the castle walls?

Step Back in Time to the Middle Ages - 12 to 12:45 p.m. & 3 to 3:45 p.m. (Grades K-8)

  • Experience life in the Middle Ages through music, games and activities.

The Art of Heraldry - 2 to 2:45 p.m. (Grades 3-8)

  • Discover the significance of designing and displaying coats of arms during the Middle Ages and create your own tournament flag.

Admission Fees:

  • Homeschool Day Fee: $6 per person includes general admission. Children under 5 are free.
  • Workshop Fee: Additional $2 per child, per workshop (Enrollment is optional.)
